Within the annual MakeLearn, TIIM & PIConf International Conference, held from 21 to 23 May 2026 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and organized by ISSBS, Slovenia, and its partners, the Erasmus+ project Leadership Capacities Development in Higher Education across Albania and Kosovo (LEADALKO) was presented to approximately 250 participants, including around 150 onsite attendees and 100 online participants. After the conference, the proceedings will be published, further enhancing the project’s visibility.
Project LEADALKO was presented during the ‘Project Opportunities Panel’ on 22 May. On the same day, the project was also featured in a conference session through the presentation entitled ‘Designing Effective Leadership Development in Higher Education: The LEADALKO Case in a Broader International Context’ (authors: Anica Novak Trunk, ISSBS; Merita Shala, University “Isa Boletini” Mitrovica, Kosovo; and Kriselda Gura, Epoka University, Albania).
Participants expressed strong interest in the project results, particularly in the leadership development programme designed for higher education institutions in Kosovo and Albania, which is currently in the piloting phase. Leadership-focused projects targeting other regions, including Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, were also presented during the conference. Participants showed particular interest in comparing leadership development approaches implemented across different countries and regions, highlighting the global relevance of leadership capacity-building in higher education.
